2014

What do I want from 2014?

2014

  • Be at peace, find contentment.
  • Get good grades.
  • Run my first official 5k.
  • Run my first half marathon.
  • Ski more.
  • Hike new trails.
  • Run longer and harder.
  • Travel somewhere new.
  • Save more money.
  • Run some rivers.
  • Take advantage of my weekends.
  • Stay on top of my finances.
  • Pay down my loans.
  • Find the beauty all around me.
  • Date, but don't date "trash." (My dad told my mom that I deserve to date guys who aren't trash. I love my dad)
  • Get closer to my parents, if that is possible.
  • Spend more time with family.
  • Turn 25.
  • Get closer to graduation, slow and steady.
  • Take opportunities to "live."
The first two months of 2014 have been kind, a lot of work, but kind. May 2014 bring many joyous occasions.
How can it not? My sister and her family are moving home. And I am getting a new sister-in-law. And I am getting two new nieces or nephews?? And I am knocking items off on my bucket list.

Here is to the new!

2013

So I have been MIA, but I am back! Blogging is a healthy way of healing and coping and of course, recording life. So what happened in 2013?

2013

  • I did indeed Skydive Canyonlands!
  • I hiked the Devil's Garden in Arches
  • I hiked my little heart out all over Weber and Davis County.
  • I watched a 15 year old boy die in a hiking accident.
  • My baby sister got married.
  • My baby brother got married.
  • I turned 24.
  • Went to St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho.
  • Got a kayak.
  • Kayaked Henry's Fork in Grand Targee.
  • Kayaked other lakes such as Causey Dam, and Pineview.
  • Gardened and planted a beautiful flowerbed.
  • Flew to Greensboro, North Carolina.
  • Rode on my first city bus.
  • Took a train to Charleston, South Carolina.
  • Took a cruise down to the Bahamas.
  • Was given the morning supervisor position at the country club.
  • Spontaneously hopped a flight to Nashville, TN.
  • Spent five days in Fort Campbell, Kentucky with my sister's family.
  • Came home and decided to change my life.
  • Moved.
  • Broke up with T.Jay.
  • Quit my job at the country club.
  • Traded in my car, and bought a brand new one.
  • Got a new, much better, happier job.
  • Worked seasonally in Park City.
  • Started running, seriously.
  • Enrolled in school, again.
  • Spent the holidays with my family and single.
All in all, there were some hard times. But many more happier, positive ones.
I am much happier now than I have been in a while. It seriously can only get better from here.
