On last week.

My last couple blog posts have been lists. Well, this time is no different, it's time for another list, folks.
Sometimes we focus on everything in our lives going wrong. Well, the power of positive thinking changed my life dramatically once in the last few years, how about I let it happen again?

Things I have loved about this last week:

-I went to an ACF meeting in Salt Lake on Monday. I saw a handful of chefs I went to culinary school with. That alone was a happy reunion. I then saw a chef I would see frequently when I was at the country club, he congratulated me on moving forward, and commented on how I was in a better place. That was nice to see that outsiders could agree.
-I went with my students to Beehive Cheese factory, I am a huge Beehive fan and an avid supporter of local businesses. It was a wonderful tour, I learned so much about the making of cheese and most important, I learned a lesson on how there is "riches in niches." Follow your heart!
-I had an experience in which I gained confidence in knowing I deserve better.
-I went on a couple dates with a man who seems to adore me. We will have to see how long that lasts.
-and last but certainly not least, (so clichè), I spent loads of time with my family, especially my wonderful older sister. I love my family, they show me love and kindness regardless of my choices and slightly unorthodox ways.

Now for another week of joyful experiences.

2014

What do I want from 2014?

2014

  • Be at peace, find contentment.
  • Get good grades.
  • Run my first official 5k.
  • Run my first half marathon.
  • Ski more.
  • Hike new trails.
  • Run longer and harder.
  • Travel somewhere new.
  • Save more money.
  • Run some rivers.
  • Take advantage of my weekends.
  • Stay on top of my finances.
  • Pay down my loans.
  • Find the beauty all around me.
  • Date, but don't date "trash." (My dad told my mom that I deserve to date guys who aren't trash. I love my dad)
  • Get closer to my parents, if that is possible.
  • Spend more time with family.
  • Turn 25.
  • Get closer to graduation, slow and steady.
  • Take opportunities to "live."
The first two months of 2014 have been kind, a lot of work, but kind. May 2014 bring many joyous occasions.
How can it not? My sister and her family are moving home. And I am getting a new sister-in-law. And I am getting two new nieces or nephews?? And I am knocking items off on my bucket list.

Here is to the new!

2013

So I have been MIA, but I am back! Blogging is a healthy way of healing and coping and of course, recording life. So what happened in 2013?

2013

  • I did indeed Skydive Canyonlands!
  • I hiked the Devil's Garden in Arches
  • I hiked my little heart out all over Weber and Davis County.
  • I watched a 15 year old boy die in a hiking accident.
  • My baby sister got married.
  • My baby brother got married.
  • I turned 24.
  • Went to St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho.
  • Got a kayak.
  • Kayaked Henry's Fork in Grand Targee.
  • Kayaked other lakes such as Causey Dam, and Pineview.
  • Gardened and planted a beautiful flowerbed.
  • Flew to Greensboro, North Carolina.
  • Rode on my first city bus.
  • Took a train to Charleston, South Carolina.
  • Took a cruise down to the Bahamas.
  • Was given the morning supervisor position at the country club.
  • Spontaneously hopped a flight to Nashville, TN.
  • Spent five days in Fort Campbell, Kentucky with my sister's family.
  • Came home and decided to change my life.
  • Moved.
  • Broke up with T.Jay.
  • Quit my job at the country club.
  • Traded in my car, and bought a brand new one.
  • Got a new, much better, happier job.
  • Worked seasonally in Park City.
  • Started running, seriously.
  • Enrolled in school, again.
  • Spent the holidays with my family and single.
All in all, there were some hard times. But many more happier, positive ones.
I am much happier now than I have been in a while. It seriously can only get better from here.
